Learning Logs

Last week Year 3 handed in their last learning log of the year, the learning target was to tell me something that really interests them. When reading them I learnt a lot, I learnt about loom bands, football, babies, dancing, 1D, dogs, to name but a few!
Here are some examples;

 Emily chose chocolate, that interests me too!
My favourite is the popping candy marvellous creations, what is your favourite chocolate?

Beat for a Treat

Year 3 have earned their beat for a treat treat, we needed to achieve an attendance percentage of over 95.6% for this last half term and we did, we achieved 96.5% well done Year 3!
So tomorrow (Friday 11th July) is our treat, we have decided that we are going to have an action packed day of sweets, pj's, toys, a film and a visit to the park!
All they need to bring is a toy and some sweets and pj's if they want, fingers crossed for sun!

Talk Homework (4/7/14)

Dear Parents,

This week your child’s Talk homework is to discuss word play and examples of it e.g. Homographs (same word 2 meanings e.g. iron), play with words (e.g. Mr Bee buzzed out) and riddles.

Please chat to your child on this topic and others surrounding  it. This will help support their writing on Friday

If possible, could the T.V be turned off while the discussion is taking place!

Thanks you for your support.

Gold Book (26/6/14)

Le Tour De France!

Since Leeds has the honour of being the tours Le Grand Depart Year 3 have been finding out what Le Tour De France actually is, the route it will take and the diet of the cyclists. As part of this we have invented a super bike that would help us win the race and packed a cyclists lunch box with all the nutritional foods they need to keep their legs working.

We used some useful websites to inform us, here are the links;

What is Le Tour De France?

The Yorkshire Route

What do Tour De France riders eat?

We had bikes with sweat wipers, thirst buttons, nitrous oxide to make you go faster, built in fans and auto pilots to ride for you so you can rest you legs, swirly wheels that hypnotise your opponent to name a few, very inventive!

Here are 2 of the bikes;

Here are an example of the lunch boxes;

What modification did your super bike have?

Could you eat what a cyclists eats?

Sports Day!

Yesterday we had a fantastic morning being competitive on the field, we took part in events such as 50m Dash, javelin, relay and some stranger events like the obstacle race and the fancy dress race! We all enjoyed ourselves and the sun even came out for us!
Here are some photos of the competitors;
